Meet Darlene: Staying Connected Through Community Programs

By June 24, 2026No Comments

Meet Darlene, a Toronto Seniors Housing Corporation tenant who believes in the power of staying connected.

Through her involvement in community programs and activities, Darlene has experienced the positive impact that participation can have on health, well-being, and quality of life. She believes these opportunities provide more than just something to do. They help people build relationships, stay engaged, and feel part of a community.

For Darlene, programs and activities create spaces where people can meet, share experiences, and support one another. She understands that staying involved can help reduce feelings of loneliness while fostering meaningful connections and a greater sense of belonging.

In this Seniors Month video, Darlene reflects on the importance of participation, connection, and community. She shares why programs and activities matter and how they help create welcoming environments where seniors can continue learning, growing, and building relationships.

This video is part of TSHC’s Seniors Month series, featuring four tenant stories from across our four regions and celebrating the many ways seniors contribute to vibrant communities.
