Councillor Paul Ainslie
MAYOR’S DESIGNATE

As an effective member of Toronto City Council, Paul Ainslie brings a broad perspective to City Hall, with more than 20 years of experience at the federal, provincial and municipal levels of government.

As Mayor John Tory’s designate to the Board of Toronto Seniors Housing Corporation, Paul is committed to realizing the vision of the Tenants First report, which called for the creation of seniors-focused housing and associated services. One of the goals is to ensure seniors age in place with dignity and comfort.

As Chair of the City of Toronto’s General Government and Licensing Committee, Paul has worked to enhance the City of Toronto’s use of technology, to have easily accessible services for all Toronto residents.

During Paul’s tenure as Chair of Toronto Public Library Board, the library added many social media tools to their portfolio, allowing for residents to interact with their library in a modern and comprehensive manner.

As Chair of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Ontario Public Libraries, Paul strives to ensure our public libraries have an open, positive environment, where residents can gather to learn, have fun, and partake in programming.
